There’s been no shortage of lights, cameras or action since the EDWINS documentary, Knife Skills, premiered in August. The film made its official New York City debut on Nov. 16 at DOC NYC, America’s largest documentary festival. And director Thomas Lennon and Brandon Chrostowski were recently in Washington, D.C. in November to attend the Meet the Press Film Festival with AFI.
That was on the heels of a trip to Wilmington, North Carolina, for the Cucalorus Film Festival and showings in Napa Valley, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Arkansas, Rhode Island, Woodstock, New York, and, of course, close to home at the Chagrin Documentary Film Festival where it received the Best Local Documentary Award.
No matter where the film goes, the reaction is the same: Viewers are awe-struck and inspired by EDWINS’ ability to give our graduates hope and opportunity.
There’s even Oscar buzz about the documentary!
People are asking how they can see the movie. Right now, Thomas Lennon is hopeful that a major cable network or a streaming provider will buy it. In the meantime, stay tuned to upcoming film festival screenings, which you can find on the Knife Skills website here.
