On April 19, the fine arts and culinary arts collide as EDWINS hosts Canvas & Cuisine. Featuring a five course dinner prepared by Chef Brandon Chrostowski with artful plating with Eileen Dorsey, the event will also feature live vignettes from visual artist Kasumi.
Even the menu itself becomes a masterpiece, as artist Bellamy Printz contributes a custom print featured on each menu. Adding a touch of handcrafted elegance, Karen Waltuck of Chanterelle in NYC will be personally handwriting the menu. From the first glance to the last bite, you’ll be surrounded by an atmosphere of creativity and refinement.
Guests will also have the opportunity to obtain rare art and more from the personal collections of local art patrons through an auction. Art being auctioned includes pieces by John Lennon, René Francisco Rodríguez, Hans Ernie, and Frank Gallo. The evening is sure to be easy on the eyes while connecting art lovers to the mission of EDWINS.
EDWINS Leadership & Restaurant Institute is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides formerly incarcerated adults a tuition-free education in the culinary and hospitality industries and a support network necessary for long-term success.

Chef Brandon and Artist Eileen Dorsey join forces to craft an unforgettable dining experience where each plate is a canvas, meticulously designed to be a piece of edible art. Paired with exquisite wines, this tasting menu promises a symphony of flavors that transcends traditional dining.
But the artistic celebration doesn’t stop at the table. Artist Kasumi will set the mood of the entire restaurant with a captivating visual art display, creating an immersive ambiance that complements and elevates every aspect of the dining experience.

As a special highlight, we’re thrilled to feature a curated selection of 10 extraordinary works of art, available for auction during the event. The eclectic collection includes a bottle of 1987 Mouton Rothschild with artwork from the iconic Hans Erni, a lithograph by Erni titled “The Drunkness,” a Paper Cast Sculpture by Frank Gallo, and a unique piece of American history. Stay tuned for additional announcements as a few other unique pieces are yet to be revealed.
